promise, meant to be broken?
A promise, everyone made. Couples made to make themselves attached even tighter, but why the promise I've with one person was broken within 23hours. We gave each other a promise, a promise that will make us together. But everything was over, all boils down to age, the promise don't mean shit any more. I love her, that will never change, hope she can find her happiness.

Updates, more like a series of review
Last time said I will do a review of donnie's movie, and now I dragged for a month. To cut short, I will do the review straight away. 3 movies, all starring donnie yen, all shown in 2008.
The empress and the warrior, shown in the mid 2008. I think should be around june, can't remember. So this movie is about the war era in china few thousand years ago. There is this small country(can't remember which one), always promote peace between countries, had to go to war to protect their own people. Donnie was one of the generals that committed many victories in the battle field. One day, the king died and the throne was passed to his daughter. Being a woman, it is not easy to rule a country, let alone during that war era. She picked up her sword and join the war, but in one of the most important battle, she convince the opposing country to stop the war and finally peace came between the 2 countries. But it don't last long, the empress fell in love with a shadow warrior that had been hiding for years, to avoid fighting. No matter what donnie said, she want to be with that shadown warrior, until one day. Another general wanted an revolution because the war had stopped, the soldiers can't stop fighting, he want to go to war again. Thus he sent assasins to kill the empress and the warrior. The empress escaped back to the kingdom, to settle things. Donnie helped, he faced thousands of soldiers alone and killed hundreds of them until he falls. The empress killed the rebelious general in a duel and unite the people back together. She returned to the warrior to find out that he is dead, she then vows to bring peace to the land until she falls dead.
This is a pretty average movie, the entire movie was too much about the love, the action part was a bit lagging. Yet, the 1 vs thousand of soldiers scene are cool. I mean, who can do that? I give it a 6 of 10.
Painted skin, shown in the september, somewhere after the chinese ghost fest. This movie was based one the famous ghost story novels. It is about love, again. Donnie, again, portrayed a general, but left the unit many years ago. He returned to the town he once stayed in, found out that his ex-lover married to his brother(not blood related). His brother saved a woman during the trip back to town after mission. His wife found out that woman has something weird, but can't describe what was wrong. The brother let her stay in his house, due to the fact that her parents are killed. After that woman came, many murder case started, the victims died in a hit, with the hearts being dug out. Donnie then met a demon slayer that claims there is a demon in town and the murder case somehow related to the demon she is after, thus help in the investigation. It was a demon's deed, a lizard demon. The girl that was saved, she was of no human, she is a fox demon. Disguised in a human skin, she had to eat humen's heart to maintain the skin. THe lizard demon then hunt for her, because he had a thing of her. Finally the wife found out this secret, in order to protect her husband, she agreed to drink a poison that was make her skin turned white, she had to claim that she is the demon, she is the murderer. The husband witness her saying those words in the town, to the citizens. He was stunned, donnie can't bear it any more, he brought her to a cave with the demon hunter. The whole army arrived, to get rid of the demon, which is the brother's wife, the fox demon tagged along. The brother can't make the decision, because he is the captain of the army, he had to kill his wife. But he can't kill his wife with him living, thus he committed suicide after killing her. Donnie's rage can't be controlled any more, he raised his blade and slash the fox demon. Seeing no blood spilled, not even a twitch on the face, proving her demon existence. The lizard appears and decide to kill everyone and then bring the fox demon away. Donnie and the demon hunter fought the lizard, finally killed it by using a very strong demon slaying sword to kill both demons, along with donnie. The blade shattered and revived everyone, the army, donnie, wife and the brother. Donnie then set on another journey to slay demons with the demon slayer.
This movie was actually better than the last one. I had to say that the action was still lagging in this movie, but the storyplot was interesting. Qi yu wu, an actor in singapore(chen xi in "little nonya") portray the lizard. The acting was pretty good, but still, the fight scene between him and donnie should be nice if donnie were to choreograph the action sequence. I'll give this movie an 7.5 of 10.

The story was based on the life story of grandmaster yip man(eep mun), the first martial artist to teach wing chun openly and make it all over the world. It was in 1930s, foshan of china. Foshan was said to be the home of martial arts, yip man practiced wing chun and love to spar with people. But he got no interest in opening a school. He spent his time with his wife, son, his good friend and the good old wooden dummy. Everything was ok until one day, some barbarians from the northern part came of foshan, to challenge every martial arts schools, all the masters lost. They finally headed to yip man's house, challenged yip man. With his wife approval, yip man accepted the challenged happily. He defeated the barbarians with no sweat broke. He then became a hero of foshan. Good things don't last, the Japanese invaded china and yip man's house was confiscated. He live a hard life with his wife and son, finally he found a job in a coal mine where he met many other martial arts masters. One of his friends went to a fighting ring, where people can challenge the Japanese karate black belts, win can get rice. But he lost and was killed in an accident. Yip man questioned and he went to the fighting ring, witness a shooting on a chinese martial artist who lost a fight against 3. He was pissed and went in the ring and request to challenge 10 karate black belts. He fought the 10 black belts and he almost cripple all of them, either they end up with a broken limbs or the face was beaten to a pulp where the mother can't even tell who he is. The Japanese general was impressed, hope he would be back for more fights, but yip mun refused. Yip mun's good friend, quan, was facing a trouble. His factory was threaten by robbers, who is the same barbarians that challenged many martial artists years ago. Yip mun was convinced to stay in the factory to work and teach wing chun to the workers at the same time. The robbers are back, not the factory workers fight with the robbers gang, yip mun arrived and beaten all of them. The barbarian was furious, he told the Japanese general about yip mun's location, yip mun was forced to go back with the Japanese to teach the Japanese wing chun. Yip mun refused but he want to fight with the General. Few days later, the arena was setted up, but the captain want yip mun to lose or he will shoot him, yip man just smiled. Yip mun appears in the arena and fought the general and defeated him. He was then shot, but not fatal. He was then brought away and finally stay in hong kong in 1940s, opened up a school that teaches wing chun and finally an assiociation. Many of his students are experts now, one of the most noted student of his, is bruce lee....
This movie is just simply great, I can't stop saying how good it is. The story was good, the story nicely brings out the feeling of the people, of course with the skills of the actors. The action, oh my god, the entire movie was action, fights here and there. Nice choreography by sammo hung! The music was by the same person who wrote music scores for death note, L change the world and dragon tiger gate, the music brings the tension to the maximum, cope with the action sequence and make it perfect. I give it 11 of 10, it is beyond any expectation. One thing I've heard is that there will be a sequel, about his life in HK, also introduced his student, bruce lee. Extra info, I'm learning wing chun too, my sifu was a student of yip zhun, son of yip mun.

New year, 2009 is here.
Well, I guess I'll review the donnie's movie on the next post, for now, I would talk something about new year resolution.
Well, there are a lot of people making resolution for a new year and hope to accomplish it by the end of the year. Some people dont like to make it and to me, it something like a "setting a target" thing for me, new targets for me to get to, so here goes.
1) Improve further on martial arts(Both wushu and taekwondo).
2) Save up enough money and go to Japan by the end of the year.
3) Get to meet with my idol, donnie yen or ultraman or both.
4) I want to improve on my academic results.
5) Shoot more short films and improve of the filming skills.
6) I want to get a girlfriend.
Again, I want to talk about resolution 6. It is a resolution I have been making for like 3 to 4 years? And what do I got? Nope, I got nothing. Like what I said in the previous 2 post, I am very lonely. I spent my time alone a lot of the time, it makes up almost half of my life time. Even my brother keep saying me like to be a loner, I do everything alone and don't wished to open to many people. So far, I only open my heart to my buddies, which only got 2. I did tried to open up more, but sometime it is not that easy. My brother said it is because I like to be a loner, I am still single. He got a point, but I don't know how to solve the problem. I am still waiting for the right person to enter my life, to open my heart fully to her. Where is this person? Ok, I should stop about that, I just hoped it would happened in 2009....

Christmas holiday movies
I caught 2 movies in a row, one with my bro and one with my bro and my cousin(along with his girlfriend). So what movie I watched, I will review them here.
This first movie that I caught with my bro, it is "bedtime stories". It is about a man, Skeeter, whose father operated and own a motel. But due to financial problem, he had to sell it, under the condition that skeeter have to run the hotel when he grows up. Well, skeeter did work in the hotel that was built after the person bought it, but he work as a plumber. One day he had to baby-sit his sister's children while she went out of town for a week. The kids are used to have bedtime story before the sleep. Skeeter told them one during the first night, the kid added sometime into the story, so the ending sounds happy. In the next day, skeeter found out that what ever was said in the story by the kids, it came true. On the same day, he got the chance of meeting the boss of the hotel. The boss said that the new hotel's theme and skeeter mentioned that the theme was outdated. The boss give him a shot, if he can come out with a better idea, he will be the manager of the new hotel. He decide to make use of the strange phenomenons that the bedtime story told to the kid to gain the position. Although in the end he got the position, he was fired moments later due to something(avoiding spoilers). I would now talk about the ending, it is predictable, what you expect from disney movie? Sad ending?
Second movie, yes man.
This movie is about a loner who says no to anything that comes to him, even his buddy asking him out. One day, his old classmae asked him to attend a seminar that ultimately changed his life, that is to say yes to everything that comes to him. Because of this, he finally found his love and finally got to become a sociable person, got into high rank in his bank office. Well, in the end, it is still a holiday movie and it has, of course, happy ending.
Basically, both movies are very funny, but they suffer the same error, jokes get old. This is very obvious in "Yes man", almost all the jokes had been used before. But, they are both very good movies, I give them 7/10 for "Bedtime stories" and 6.5/10 for "Yes man". Catch them if you got the chance, will give you a good laugh.

Movie review, bolt
Ok, this is a disney movie, so it is a kid movie. Yet, it attracted a lot of people to watch it and include me.
This movie started a dog, bolt, with a girl, penny, trying to save her father from an evil organisation. The father knows the girl will be targetted, he altered bolt's gene and make it a superdog. So there is a dog-bike-chopping chase scene and then bolt bark the shit out of the thugs.
You thought this is an action disney movie, oh no, you're wrong. These action are jst a filming of a tv show. Bolt believe that everything and his power is true and people are trying to catch penny. Until one day that after a shooting end with penny really got caught. The manager of penny don't allow her to see bolt to let bolt continue to believe everything. Bolt escaped the studio and accidentally got to NYC. From there, he team up with a cat, mitten and a mouse or something, rhino to get back to hollywood. In the mean time, he noticed that everything is fake and so do his power.
Finally he got back to hollywood and some shit happens, he got back with penny with mitten and rhino, becoming pets of penny's.
I had to say the graphic are pretty good and the voice acting are pretty good. Well, what you expect for the disney movie? But I got one thing to say about the plot, it is very similar to Toy story by pixar, in fact, I think the plot is exactly the same, just with different character. Toy story is about a toy woody and buzz got lost and then a kid grab it and claimed his. Then the owner is moving house and then woody and buzz got back to the owner just in time. That is the one thing that I complain, the plot is so similar to toy story that there isn't much originality.
This movie is still pretty good, I give it 7/10 for it. Go watch it if you got the chance.

Argh! pain!
Last sunday, I think I over exert a bit too much during the gym session, I injured my bi-sect(sp). Now it's ridiculously pain if I want to raise my hand higher than the shoulder height. *sigh, 2008 is almost over and this year hasn't been one of the worst year, but it wasn't one of the best. I lost a lot of things this year, I lost love, I lost friendship, not to mention twice. It's seems that I always don't get love, I always can't get a girlfriend that both of us love each other. I'm not being a "love-holic", but it's just too...lonely. I'm always so lonely, even though I always told my buddy that I will not love, martial art is the only thing. But deep down in my heart, I always want someone to love and someone to love me. Can you imagine how lonely to watch a movie alone, to go shopping alone, go playing alone and even walking alone? It's this emptiness that is enough swallow a whole person in and devour them. God, please grant me this small wish, I want to love someone and someone to love me...

Busy, busy and still busy
Been busy recently, tomorrow is my first day in the Film IG, so I'm going to work hard to get better on filming. Talking about filming, last time I talked about taking part in the reflection, an art event in school. So a team need to submit their entry, a short film and then judges will judge which one will win. I didn't win, but it's due to one that there is no "best action design" prize, so I didn't win any one of the prize. I also got not very good comment on the sgcafe forum. I'm ok with it, just a little demoralising when saw it. But, the president of the Film IG invited me to join, to hone my camera skills. Also, one of the organiser said that the judges like the fight scene, one of them is a tv programe producer and might look up to me when they want to film action scene. Although, I never win, but it seems that the reward is bigger and better than the $1000 cash.
Recently not only busy, I don't know what happened to me. When I'm bored, I turn on either python or php to do programming. Although it might be difficult at time, but it is quite fun when I do it.
I am now planning for the last episode of the "dawn of twin vegeance". I'm going to make it big. I might film it in this dec holiday or during the 2 months holiday.
Tomorrow going to watch a movie, will talk about it when I got back home.
